Response Letter - The Bills Committee on Supplementary Medical Professions (Amendment) Bill 2025
On 7 May 2025, our President wrote two letters (in both English and Chinese versions) to the Members of the Bills Committee on Supplementary Medical Professions (Amendment) Bill 2025 of the Legislative Council in response to the said bill submitted to the council recently, which proposes a new legal framework for allowing patients to access physiotherapy services without a doctor’s referral under specified circumstances.
In the letters, we have expressed our concerns and recommendations mainly in four areas:
