Certificate Course for Vestibular Rehabilitation

This is a comprehensive certificate course on vestibular rehabilitation for physiotherapists, integrating learnt knowledge and skills for professional assessment and effective treatment of the condition.
It covers specific anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, common vestibular pathologies, diagnostic tests, treatment maneuvers and vestibular rehabilitation exercises. 
On completion of this course, participants are able to provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and effective treatment for the vestibular rehabilitation of their clients.

About the speakers
Dr. Wendy Kwan is the Associate Consultant at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat of the Kowloon East Cluster. She is the honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Kwan graduated in 1995 with an MBChB from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  She obtained MRCSEd in General Surgery in 1999, followed by fellowships in ENT:  FRCSEd (ORL), FHKCORL and FHKAM (Otorhinolaryngology) in 2004.
Dr. Kwan has worked with physiotherapists at United Christian Hospital for the management of patients with vertigo since 2009.  Patients with suspected vestibular rehabilitation got fast track referral to physiotherapy for Videonystagmography and vestibular rehabilitation.  This program got the best Quality Improvement Program in KEC Quality Conference in 2010.  The team was interviewed by the media and published in 6 newspapers in July 2010.
Dr. Kwan has been a favoured speaker on vestibular disorders to health care professionals under Family Medicine, and Post-registration Certificate Courses of ENT Nursing.

Dr. Doris Chong is currently the Training and Clinical Development Specialist at the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation. She has extensive clinical experience in adult neurological rehabilitation and has been a Board Certified Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties since 2008. Prior to joining the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, she was the Senior Clinical Specialist at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where vestibular rehabilitation is one of her primary teaching focuses. She has also taught at various physiotherapy programs in the USA, including Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  

Ms. Becky Lam is an experienced physiotherapist in Hospital Authority for over 12 years. She is now working in an NGO for the geriatrics services. She obtained her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and MSc in Stroke and Clinical Neurosciences from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
She has specialized in vestibular rehabilitation since 2009. She participated in a collaborated clinical study on vestibular rehabilitation with ENT & Audiology Departments in the United Christian Hospital in 2009-2011. She was awarded for the best oral presentation on “Fast Tract Assessment, Screening and Treatment Pathway for Enhanced Vestibular Rehabilitation” back in the KEC CQI Conference 2010.
She was also the founder of the outpatient vestibular rehabilitation service in Tseung Kwan O Hospital. She has delivered vestibular rehabilitation training for physiotherapist colleagues in various settings since 2014.
