Professional Advisors
Dr. Grace SZETO, PhD, MSc, BSc(PT) 

Dr. Szeto is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1996 and she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy programs in the areas of electrotherapy, ergonomics, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Prior to joining the academic profession, she worked as a physiotherapist in Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.  She has extensive research experience in using motion analysis and surface electromyography to explore the mechanisms underlying work-related musculoskeletal disorders, especially neck and upper limb disorders in computer users. She has published over 40 papers in international peer-reviewed journals on these topics. She is the honorary advisor of the Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Specialty Group of the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association. Currently, her research projects include:  (1) developing an Ergomotor intervention program for work-related neck and shoulder pain, (2) the association between biomechanical factors and neck pain in smart phone users.

Mr. Peter POON, MBA (Public Service)

Mr. Poon is a physiotherapist by training. He is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Corporate Development) of the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, the Adjunct Associate Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Rehabilitation Sciences Department; the Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation (current) and the Honorary Consultant of the Macau Rehabilitation Society. Peter has been working in Australia and in Hong Kong in community health and community-based rehabilitation services for people with disabilities and chronic health conditions. He is the pioneer in the development of the Chinese version Chronic Disease Self-management Program developed by the Stanford University and the first certified T-trainers in the Asia-pacific region. Apart from the management duties, he has been actively involved in the trainings on self-management for the healthcare, social service professionals and the lay persons. Finally, He is a frequent speaker in various local and international conferences. 

Ms. Miranda LAU, Mental Health Expert 

 Ms. Miranda Lau joined the physiotherapy service in Hong Kong for over 30 years. Prior to focusing her work interest in Physiotherapy in Mental Health Services, she worked in various physiotherapy settings in different public hospitals / clinics. She was Department Manager (Physiotherapy) in Kwai Chung Hospital since 1994 until retirement . She was President of Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association (1986-1988). 

In the 1990's, she was invited to be member of the Steering Committees of New Life Association, and  the Hong Kong Alzheimer's Disease Association; and she was appointed Honorary Lecturer by the Physiotherapy Section of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She was also one of the founding members of Hong Kong Psychogeriatric Association."
